My laundry game is always changing, From the ideal water temperature to the best kind of detergent, it feels like I’m always tweaking something to try and figure out how to get the best results for me and my family.
I went on the hunt for an even more compact solution—and laundry sheets were suddenly very appealing.
Imagine my surprise when they didn’t just solve one problem, they solved a few. Here was my experience putting detergent sheets to the test, comping against my favorite liquid detergent.
What Are Laundry Sheets?
For the unfamiliar, laundry sheets are exactly how they sound. They’re laundry detergent in the form of a flat, thin square, much like a dryer sheet. However they’re also a truly plastic-free detergent alternative in fact.
While laundry pods are often touted as a great, environmentally friendly alternative to liquid detergent, the truth is, that the pods themselves are still made of petroleum-based plastic.
This means you might cut down on the bulkier plastic containers liquid detergent comes in, but you’re still technically using plastic.
Laundry sheets, however, promise to ditch the plastic entirely. All are stored in a cardboard box, further eliminating any plastic.
How Well Do Laundry Sheets Work?
I wasn’t about to switch to laundry sheets just because they’re space savers. I needed to know if they work just as well—if not better—than all the other detergent options out there.
I decided to run my first test on a load of whites. This included a ketchup-stained shirt from my six-year-old and a few other white t-shirts that were looking more than a little dingy.
The Results
I was delighted to find that the load in general looked so much better. Best of all, everything smelled great. The laundry was clean, fresh, and not overly scented or fragrant. Everything was brighter and whiter
Fixing the Storage Conundrum
As a major win, I was thrilled to find that the boxes of Yuemian laundry sheets are slim, stackable, and so much easier to store than pretty much every other laundry detergent option I’ve tried.
The fact that the Yuemian sheets work just as great as liquid detergent was already exciting enough, but knowing my storage space was going to be less cluttered as a result of this switch！
